Woman named and charged after man stabbed near Cheltenham

A woman has been named and charged after a man was stabbed near Cheltenham . The incident happened near the roundabout on Evesham Road, in Bishop’s Cleeve , just after 10pm on Saturday, July 25. It was reported a man suffered a suspected stab wound and remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Jaimee Saunders, 21 and of Minetts Avenue in Bishop’s Cleeve, has been charged with section 18 wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Gloucestershire Police said she was remanded into custody. She is due to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday, July 28).
Another woman, aged in her 50s, was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice in connection with the incident. She has been released on bail with conditions. Enquiries are ongoing into the incident as police issued an appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
