Man arrested following stabbing in Cheltenham
Summary
Police have arrested a man following a stabbing incident in Cheltenham yesterday morning (Thursday, July 16). Officers were called to a report that a man had been stabbed in a car park on Rodney Road shortly after 6am. A man had approached a group of people, some of whom were known to him, as they stood on Regent Street.
Details
It was reported that he had chased one of the men towards the car park before stabbing him in the back. The victim, a man aged in his 20s from Gloucester, had suffered three wounds to his back. He was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Following a search of the area by police, a 22-year-old man from Cheltenham was subsequently arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent. He remains in police custody at this time while enquiries continue.
