Summary

A man was stabbed in a car park in Cheltenham shortly after 6am this morning (Thursday, July 16). The incident happened in a car park on Rodney Road. Gloucestershire Police said a man approached a group of people as they stood on Regent Street.

Details

Some of the group were known to the man. It was reported he chased one of them towards the car park before stabbing him in the back. The victim, a man in his 20s from Gloucester, suffered three wounds to his back.

He was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition. Police searched the area and a 22-year-old man from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent. He remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
