Prominent Gloucester HQ on the market

Summary

The former headquarters of lens manufacturer Norville is for sale. The huge office and warehouse site in Waterwells Business Park closed its doors earlier this year. Renowned Gloucester company Norville traded in the city for 127 years but parent company Inspecs Group closed it down following a strategic review .

Details

Norville’s HQ and manufacturing site transferred from Tredworth to the Quedgeley business park in 2022 after Bath-based Inspecs rescued the company from administration. Around 50 staff worked at the 43,000 sq ft property, manufacturing and distributing optical lenses. Inpsecs has not revealed whether they have been made redundant or moved elsewhere.

Norville opticians continue to operate as independent businesses with the locations in Gloucester, Cheltenham and Stonehouse remaining open. The two-storey property, known as The Paper House Building, was also formerly headquarters for another well-known Gloucester business- The Great British Card Company. It vacated the property to move to a new purpose-built site St Modwen Park , Gloucester in September 2021.

The property is now sitting empty once again and is on the market for an unknown price with estate agent Alder King. It is described it as a detached industrial warehouse building on a self-contained site with ground and first floor offices and a large external yard. Two access points are provided off Baird Road, and the building has two level access loading doors off an extensive yard and car parking area.
