This weekend we see once again the Cheltenham half marathon taking place around the streets of our town. If you are not one of the brave people taking part and wish to support them there are plenty of places to watch from.

The run starts near the Pittville Park on the main road (A435), there will be refreshments, toilets, first aid and information points in this area. This is likely to be the busiest area of the run therefore if you wish to get a good spot to watch from you might need to get there early. Speaking of early the run starts at 9am and will last most of the day.

From the start they will run around Pittville Park in a big loop which will take them down St Pauls road heading back in the centre of Cheltenham. They will proceed up the promenade and turn behind the shops, bars and Barclays bank in Montpellier.

They will then head down the Landsdown Road all the way down to Shelburne Road, which they will run around the park before heading back up Hatherley Road towards Tivoli.

They then run around the Boys College back down towards Montpellier and follow the run the came up earlier.

Just where they joined the A46 from St Pauls Road earlier they will then peel off right towards Cheltenham Town Football Club and continue to New Barn Lane which they will join.

From there they will run into Cheltenham Racecourse and run right around and head out again.

Now it is the home straight right back to where they started.

This should be a great day both for the runners and supports!

If however you are not too interested in the Cheltenham half marathon we recommend avoiding the roads and area around the course set out above.
