Bus operator Stagecoach steps up county services

Summary

Regional bus operator Stagecoach West , whose county base is on London Road in Gloucester, has flagged key changes to its routes with a plan to boost capacity between Cheltenham, Gloucester and Stroud. The changes kick in on November 1 and will include: For Service 66 , (Cheltenham to Stroud) a new Sunday Service 66 will be introduced, replacing the current Sunday journeys operated as Service 166.

Details

School-time journeys on weekdays have been retimed for this route “to help improve reliability and punctuality for customers travelling to and from Stroud,” the operator said.

For Service 166 , to “help address overcrowding” school day journeys (for Thomas Keble School) at 7:30am will start from Brockworth Cross Hands from Monday November 2 and follow the Service 66 route to Stroud before continuing to Thomas Keble School on their existing route. Sunday journeys currently operated as Service 166 between Cheltenham and Stroud will also be replaced by the new Sunday Service 66.

For the Gloucester Service 8 , buses serving Hunts Grove will operate a new loop around the estate, providing improved coverage of both Hunts Grove and Davy Way – some journey times being revised to accommodate these changes. The operator urged passengers to check the updated timetables before travelling and thanked them for their patience and understanding as these improvements are introduced.
