And the firm has already set an ambitious target of raising £160,000 for 2026/27. Adam Finch, HCR Law partner, is based at the Cheltenham office and serves as charity fundraising partner for the firm, overseeing and coordinating its wide-ranging charitable activities. He said: “Colleagues from all corners of the firm have taken it upon themselves to organise activities every month.
Their energy and enthusiasm have been truly infectious. With the momentum we’ve built across all our 13 offices, I’m confident we can exceed our new target.” HCR Law fundraising has taken many forms, from inspiring a love of reading in local schoolchildren to pulling on wellies to weed and tidy the garden at Cheltenham General Hospital’s oncology department.
A key objective for HCR Law this year was to increase participation in payroll giving, which it did by 85% on the previous year, and the firm hopes to increase the figure again this year.

Zara Shah, a lawyer in the HR, Employment and Immigration team at the Birmingham office , said: “I have been a charity ambassador for HCR Law’s Birmingham office for two years and we are currently supporting Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity. I believe that kindness and generosity can make a real difference to people’s lives. As a Muslim, giving to charity is an important part of my faith.
It supports those in need and helps to build a more caring community.” Adam continued: “Supporting the wider community is incredibly important to us. While the headline fundraising figure is important, because that’s what the charities need to function, it’s only the tip of the iceberg of the investment of time and energy, enthusiasm and passion our firm makes, which no-one can really put a figure on.
We are proud of everyone who got involved this year.” Through the HCR Law Charitable Trust, staff across the firm’s 13 offices raise money for charities which meet a real local community need. Over the last 30 years, the firm has raised more than £2m, thanks to the enthusiasm and commitment of its employees.
