Twenty-three teams of four players – made up clients, consultants and contractors – took part in the event and were greeted by welcome drinks sponsored by Protech Project Delivery Solutions. All guests were given food tokens to use at any of the eateries within Dunkertons Park. Nearly all Roberts Limbrick directors attended to help the event run smoothly and to catch up with guests.
Quizmaster Richard Owen pulled together an excellent evening of seven rounds of questions plus pictures and a music round, making 10 rounds in total. Teams marked each other’s sheets, which were collected by Roberts Limbrick directors and totted up after each round so the winners could be announced quickly The atmosphere at Dunkertons Park was brilliant, and the competition was fierce.
First place went to Barnwood Limited, while AFA (Alex Frame Associates) and McLoughlin Planning were tied in second place. The tie break question was ‘How many pages are there in total across all the Harry Potter books?’ AFA came closest. There was also a highly successful raffle with over 30 prizes.

Emma Kent, Roberts Limbrick’s marketing and bid assistant, pulled the evening together and there has already been talk of making this an additional annual fundraising event alongside the firm’s charity golf day. Wayne Organ, Roberts Limbrick director, said: “We’re truly thrilled with the success of our first-ever charity quiz.
Raising £5,300 is an incredible achievement, which will help support both James Hopkins Trust in Gloucester and St David’s Hospice Care in Newport with the admiral and important work they do. “Everyone had a fantastic, fun and relaxing evening and we were delighted with the turnout, particularly as the event fell at the being of the summer holidays. We’re extremely grateful to everyone who was able to make it.
“Overall, it was a fantastic evening that allowed us not only to raise money for two brilliant charities that mean a great deal to us, but also to catch up with clients, consultants and contractors from across the industry. We were also pleased to welcome some new faces who may not usually join us on the golf course, but were keen to get involved in the quiz!
“Combined with our Charity Golf Day fundraising efforts earlier in the year, we’re incredibly proud that we have raised £12,300 so far, which is shared between the two charities. We sincerely hope these donations will help each charity to continue to provide invaluable care and support to children, families and patients.”
