The Padel Club set to open eight new sites has clubs in Gloucester Cheltenham

Summary

The Padel Club, which runs two padel centres in the county, is set to triple its footprint. The company raised £3 million for the expansion from NPIF II – PXN Equity Finance, which is managed by PXN Ventures as part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II (NPIF II), as reported by About Manchester. The Padel Club has just opened the first of eight new planned sites in Handforth, Cheshire.

Details

New clubs in Chester, Liverpool, Knutsford, Sheffield, Cardiff, Brighton and Sutton Coldfield are set to follow, which will take the total number of courts the company operates to 85. The Padel Club opened its flagship club at Gloucester Quays, in the former Toys R Us store, in October 2024. It opened its Cheltenham club at Kingsditch a year later.

The expansion into Cheltenham and Trafford City in Manchester, combined with strong performance across the club’s existing locations, drove approximately 100% revenue growth in the first half of 2026 compared to the same period last year.

Data from the Lawn Tennis Association shows that 860,000 people played padel at least once in 2025, which is more than double 2024’s count, making it one of the fastest growing sports in Britain.
