Cheltenham Town came from behind to beat struggling Crawley Town 3-1 at Broadfield Stadium on Saturday, with two goals from Charlie McCann and one from Andreas Weimann securing a third league win of the season.
How the match unfolded
Crawley took an early lead through Dylan Morgan, who fired home in the 7th minute after a low cross from Danilo Orsi — the hosts’ fastest goal at Broadfield Stadium in 17 months. But Cheltenham responded quickly, turning the game around with two goals in the space of three minutes either side of the half-hour mark.
Charlie McCann levelled from Joe Tomlinson’s assist in the 32nd minute, and Andreas Weimann headed Cheltenham in front three minutes later, converting a Jordan Shipley cross. McCann struck again after the break, finishing off a swift counter-attack in the 54th minute to make it 3-1.
Crawley pushed for a way back into the game — Osman Kamara struck the crossbar on the hour mark — while at the other end Cheltenham also hit the woodwork through substitute Freddy Willcox and Jordan Shipley, but the score stayed at 3-1 through to full time.
