Summary

A 33 year old Tetbury man has been charged with causing the death of a Gloucestershire granddad in a car crash at Birdlip two years ago. Nuno Gouveia, of DobsonCourt, Chipping Street, Tetbury, is alleged to have been driving without due care and attention when his Nissan Qashqai was in collision with Michael Ramstedt’s Kia Picanto on July 2, 2024. The collision happened on Stroud Road, Birdlip, at 5.30am that day.

Details

Mr Gouveia’s case was listed last week at Cheltenham Magistrates Court and was adjourned till July 15 this year for him to attend and enter a plea to the charge. Following Mr Ramstedt’s death his family issued a statement saying he was a devoted husband to his wife Livia, whom he met and married in Italy, a devoted father to his two sons and two daughters and a doting grandfather to his eight grandchildren.

He also had two dogs which he ‘adored,’ the family stated. “Michael was born in Gloucester and raised in Cheltenham with his brother and two sisters and remained close to them his entire life.” said the statement. “He was a funny and hard working man who always tried to find the positive in every situation.
