A 23-year-old man from Cheltenham has been sentenced to three years in prison after admitting to a string of burglaries across Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.
Christopher Brown, of Denman Avenue in Cheltenham, pleaded guilty to multiple counts of burglary at Worcester Crown Court on Friday, 20 March. The court heard how Brown targeted properties in Ladywood, Droitwich; Church Road, Crowle; Ross-on-Wye; Tewkesbury; and Moreton-in-Marsh between October last year and January.
Detective Constable Will Goode of West Mercia Police said the sentencing “reflects both the seriousness of his offending and the dedication of our team in bringing him to justice.” Goode added that burglary is an “intrusive crime that causes significant harm and distress to victims, as well as fear and disruption within the wider communities.”
A police spokesperson said Brown’s crimes had caused “distress to victims and significant disruption within local communities.” The three-year sentence, they stated, “demonstrates that we will act decisively to protect our communities and hold offenders accountable.”
