– Environmental initiatives like the renovation of the Gottingen Garden in Sandford Park by the Friends of Sandford Park, the Cheltenham Paint Festival’s efforts to transform areas through public art, and the relandscaping of the St Aidan’s Church Community Garden.
– Wellbeing-focused projects, including nature journaling in Pittville Park, exercise classes for people with disabilities at the Armoury Gym, and the West Cheltenham Arts Community Choir by KAM Performing Arts Academy.

What You Need to Know

The Community Pride fund is an annual initiative by Cheltenham Borough Council, aimed at supporting outstanding community groups whose activities have a positive impact on local residents. This year, the council received a high number of impressive applications, but could only support 22 projects due to the limited funding.

Councillor Victoria Atherstone, the cabinet member for safety and communities, expressed the council’s delight in being able to support these “fabulous, community enriching projects” across Cheltenham. Councillor Rowena Hay, the leader of the council, highlighted the fund’s importance in enabling the voluntary and community sector to deliver impactful initiatives throughout the year.
