The 2026 British Hill Climb Championship will very likely be decided on Cheltenham’s doorstep this September, as Prescott Speed Hill Climb near Gotherington hosts the closing round of the season.

When and where

The British and Midland Hill Climb Championships – Closing Meeting runs Saturday 19 to Sunday 20 September 2026 at Prescott Speed Hill Climb, Gotherington, Cheltenham GL52 9RD. Saturday is practice, with timed runs and the championship run-offs on Sunday.

A three-way title fight

With one round of the season left, the title could be settled at Prescott between Matthew Ryder (the reigning champion, defending his crown), Wallace Menzies (a former multiple British champion) and Will Hall (a multiple runner-up chasing a first title).

What else is on

  • The popular Tin Top Run Off, for production-based saloons, hatchbacks and sports cars.
  • A Battle of Britain Memorial flypast, scheduled for 12:12pm on Saturday 19 September.
  • A trade village with motorsport, automotive and lifestyle exhibitors.
  • A Saturday evening BBQ for those staying on after the day’s competition.

Tickets

Super early bird adult admission starts at £18 (£20 on the gate), with weekend tickets, under-16 and carer admission also available. BOC members go free. Full ticket options and times are on the official Prescott event page.

Cheltenham Times will be back after the meeting with the championship result and how the weekend played out.
