Summary
NHS Talking Therapies, Health and Wellbeing College and the Partnership Team were just a few of the GHC Community Partners supporting the MSK Community Education Day at Tewkesbury Academy on Wednesday 26 August, organised by an MSK Physiotherapy working group.
Details
The aim of the day was to provide education, advice and health promotion to patients while they wait for an appointment, giving patients the opportunity to access a range of support and guidance, including from NHS teams and Voluntary and Third Sector Services and Organisations.
Zoe Hepburn (NHS Talking Therapies), Anita Pope (Partnership Team) and Phoebe Fulvio-Mason and Lorraine Jones (Gloucestershire Health and Wellbeing College), collaborated on the day, to raise awareness of the support available from GHC through self referral.
This includes help for people living with MSK difficulties and their carers to self manage symptoms, adapt to change, build coping skills, practise mindfulness, and access evidence based psychological therapies for common mental health problems.
