A man has been taken to hospital after falling from a three-storey balcony in Cheltenham. Emergency services rushed out to Monks Croft at around 12.15am on Wednesday, May 13 following reports of concern for welfare. Gloucestershire Police said a man had fallen from the third-storey balcony of a block of flats.

He was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for treatment. He remains in hospital at this time. Police officers remain at the scene today.

Gloucestershire Police are asking anyone who was in the area and saw what happened to get in touch. A force spokesperson said: “Police were called with a report of a concern for welfare at an address in the Monkscroft area of Cheltenham at around 12.15am this morning (Wednesday 13 May). “Upon attendance it was found that a man had fallen from the third floor balcony of a block of flats.

He was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for treatment to his injuries where he remains at this time. A scene guard is currently in place at the address whilst enquiries are conducted.

“Officers are now asking anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened to complete the following online form quoting incident 5 of 13 May: https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/ ” A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 12.22am to assist the ambulance service with a man who had fallen from a third floor block of flats.

One fire engine from Cheltenham East was sent to the scene and we assisted with lighting and gaining access. The stop time was 12.50am.”
