Jail for Cirencester shoplifter who targeted Tesco Express

A prolific Cirencester shoplifter who stole from Tesco Express stores in the town more than 30 times in seven months has been locked up while he awaits sentence. At Cheltenham Magistrates Court, Tyler Keen of Querns Road, Cirencester, admitted a total of 37 thefts between November last year and May this year.
Details
As well as 32 thefts from Tesco Express, he also stole from Boots, Mountain Warehouse, Mounties the Co-op and Ducklings in the town. The total value of goods he stole was more than £1,800 – the highest value theft being £739 worth of Lego from Ducklings and the lowest £2.50 worth of food from Tesco Express.

He also took alcohol, washing and cleaning products, chocolates, Christmas selection boxes and ski coats. Remanding him in custody until July 8 for a pre-sentence report to be prepared, the magistrates said they were refusing bail on the grounds that he might offend again or abscond.
