Details

A witness told Gloucestershire Live a car had “smashed into Food Warehouse on Tewkesbury Road”. An image from the scene showed a police cordon in place at the roadside and minor damage to an exterior wall of the shop itself. A pile of bricks also pictured following the vehicle’s removal suggests the main damage was to a brick pillar just in front of the building.

Police did not state if there were any injuries but confirmed the driver of the vehicle had suffered a suspected medical episode at the wheel. The person involved was assessed by paramedics at the scene. A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police said: “We were called to Gallagher Retail Park in Cheltenham at around 10am yesterday (Thursday) with a report that a vehicle had collided with a wall outside a shop.

The driver of the vehicle was assessed by paramedics after sustaining a suspected medical episode behind the wheel.” Want to see more stories from GloucestershireLive?
