While sales are increasing, the business said it hasn’t yet been enough to cover the difference. Siobhan Westmacott, owner of The Kiwi Fruit is Cute , said: “We sell yarn, fabric, haberdashery and all the little bits people need to actually start and finish their projects. We run workshops, free Make & Mingle sessions and a monthly craft market too.
It is more than a shop to us, and we know it has become more than that to a lot of you as well.
“We are growing as a business, but we have reached the point where covering the bills and buying enough stock at the same time is becoming impossible without us personally continuing to put money in.” She said the crowdfunder would allow The Kiwi Fruit is Cute to restock, grow sales and cover the higher running costs of the new shop while the business builds back up.
The Kiwi Fruit is Cute has set a crowdfunding target of £5,000.
