Cheltenham man fuming after Yodel package dropped on doorstep

Summary

A Cheltenham man has slammed delivery company Yodel after doorcam footage captured one of their drivers dropping his fragile package onto his doorstep. Chris Haley, 60, ordered an ornamental garden hare as a birthday gift but when the package arrived, he says it was broken. Chris, from Charlton Kings in Cheltenham, caught the incident on his door camera.

Details

It shows the driver walking up to the door, seemingly dropping the package on the floor but breaking its fall with his foot, before walking off. Mr Haley said: “He literally just got to the step, dropped the package on the floor, walked off. When I unpacked it, it was broken.” Mr Haley timed the delivery driver’s actions from the moment he entered the property to when he left, saying it took just nine seconds.

“It’s just not good enough. We are paying good money for things,” he added. “He didn’t have a clue what was in that package.

I know it looked like he tried to cushion it with his foot, but he literally just dropped it on the floor, sort of booted it against the wall.” “I think it’s just a licence to be an a**hole, to be honest, being a delivery driver,” Mr Haley said. “There’s never any come back on them, and I just think it needs calling out,” he added.

“He’s come onto my property, he just walked out of the gate, hasn’t even bothered to close it or anything. There’s no respect for anybody’s property anymore.” Yodel have been approached for comment.
