A road closure was implemented and remains in place this afternoon at the junction with the A436. Motorists were warned to “avoid the area” and witnesses have been urged to contact police. A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police said: “A road closure has been put into place on the A40 near Andoversford following a serious collision this morning (Wednesday 9 September).
“We were called shortly before 7am with a report that a number of vehicles had been involved in a collision on the A40 between Northleach and Andoversford. “One person has been taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment to a suspected head injury. “Emergency services remain at the scene with motorists advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
