Aldi recruiting 450 store roles amid expansion drive

Summary

Aldi is recruiting more than 450 store assistants as it presses ahead with its UK expansion plans, Retail Gazette has reported. The entry-level roles form part of Aldi’s continued investment in its store estate, with around 40 new locations set to open this year under a £370m expansion programme.

Applicants do not need any formal qualifications, although the supermarket said it is looking for candidates who are friendly, positive and confident working with numbers. Aldi UK recruitment director Kelly Stokes said the roles offered “market-leading pay, excellent training and real opportunities” for career progression.

She added: “From day one, our colleagues are supported with the training and experience they need to succeed.” The recruitment drive comes as Aldi continues to grow and improve its UK store network. Alongside its new openings, the supermarket is upgrading 25 existing shops this summer. Stokes said the discounter was seeking friendly and hardworking applicants to join its expanding store teams.

Aldi has stores located across Gloucestershire, including three in Gloucester and two in Cheltenham, as well as stores in Stroud, Cirencester, Tewkesbury and Moreton-in-Marsh.
