Superdry has a new commercial director

Summary

Superdry has promoted Matt Brewster into the role of commercial director. He was formerly global partnerships & wholesale director at the Cheltenham-headquartered fashion retailer.

Details

Confirming his new position on LinkedIn, he said: “Excited to continue my journey with Superdry working alongside our founder Julian Dunkerton and the passionate teams around the globe.” He added: “I am looking forward to the opportunities ahead and building on our shared ambition for the future.” Brewster joined Superdry in March 2024, following senior roles at Speedo, Pentland Brands, Arcadia Group and WIT Fitness.

Superdry’s previous commercial director was Craig McGregor, who left the business in 2024. Brewster’s promotion follows a period of significant change for the company. It avoided insolvency in 2024 by passing a major court-sanctioned restructuring plan and then moved into private ownership in 2025 under founder and CEO Julian Dunkerton .

with more than £14million injected into the business. Since then it has been rebuilding its brand positioning, product offer and retail strategy, with partnerships forming an increasingly prominent part of its approach. It has added Bench and US workwear brand Stan Ray to its Superdry & Co portfolio, and in August signed a long-term collaboration with Italian sportswear brand Kappa.

Meanwhile, well-known Gloucestershire businessman Mr Dunkerton recently failed in his bid to take over Gloucestershire Airport.
