Cheltenham woman banned from visiting Gloucester after shoplifting spree

Summary

A 42-year-old Cheltenham woman has been banned from entering Gloucester, while she awaits sentence next month for a series of shoplifting offences in the city. Victoria Burrows of Vittoria Walk, Cheltenham, pleaded guilty to four thefts from Gloucester stores and four offences of breaching a criminal behaviour order (CBO) by entering retail premises in the city.

Details

She has also admitted an offence of assault by beating a man, who is understood to be a security officer at Morrisons. In addition, she faces nine more charges to which she has not yet entered her pleas. They are four more alleged thefts, four charges of breaching her criminal behaviour order and one of breaching bail.

Cheltenham Magistrates remanded her on bail for a pre-sentence report to be prepared. She is due back before the court on November 3, when she will be expected to enter pleas to all the outstanding charges. While awaiting that appearance, it is a condition of her bail that she does not enter Gloucester.

The charges cover a period from March to September this year. She has admitted stealing protein powder from Morrisons, a model kit from Hobbycraft, Easter eggs and coffee from Tesco and washing detergent from Asda. She has also admitted entering those stores in breach of her criminal behaviour order.

Charges to which she has not yet entered her pleas involve further alleged thefts from Asda and also from Iceland, as well as further breaches of the CBO.
