A bakery which makes products for M&S has been named a finalist at the Baking Industry Awards 2026. Bishop’s Cleeve-based Four Anjels is hoping to take home the trophy for Bakery Manufacturer of the Year, a title reserved for businesses which are driving growth and producing quality products at scale, whilst remaining conscientious about their people and the environment.

At its purpose-built 25,000 sq ft bakery, the company bakes a range of sweet treats for some of the UK’s best-known names in retail, foodservice and luxury hamper markets. Its primary partner is M&S, for which it supplies a large range of brownies, bars and biscuits. Now in its 39th year, the Baking Industry Awards celebrates the very best in British baking.
Fifteen awards are up for grabs at the final on November 25 at the London Hilton. Andrea Stevens, commercial director at Four Anjels , said: “This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication that every single one of our team brings to our delicious bakes that we make every day.
Being shortlisted among the best in the industry doesn’t happen by accident, it’s the result of the quality, consistency and passion we all put into our products and our customers.” In a marketplace dominated by automated, high-output manufacturing, Four Anjels occupies an unusual position, as an artisan bakery operating at commercial scale.
Every product across its range is made using store-cupboard ingredients, minimal processes and no unnecessary complexity. The business was founded in 2010 by five people with one oven and one mixing bowl. Four Anjels now produces around two million units per month.
Since moving to Bishop’s Cleeve in 2022, it has enjoyed a sustained period of growth amid rising demand for sweet treats. In 2025, food and beverage investment company Olidor Group acquired a majority stake in the business, providing further backing to support the bakery’s next phase of growth.
