Firefighters from two stations were called to a house in Cheltenham over fears it may be a large scale property blaze. One fire engine from Cheltenham West and two from Cheltenham East were called to the incident on the corner of Pates Avenue and Alstone Lane following a 999 call at 5.45pm this evening (Sunday September 6).

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that three appliances were sent to the property as is pretty standard with suspected property fires. She said one hose reel jet was used to deal with the cause of the fire which turned out to be a small rubbish fire in the garden.
