Her appointment follows a highly competitive recruitment process, which attracted a strong field of experienced educational leaders. Having dedicated more than 20 years to Ashley Manor, Sarah has helped lead key developments across teaching, learning and school life, while also serving as the school’s designated safeguarding lead.
Sarah Tow said: “I am honoured to have been appointed head of prep and excited about the opportunities ahead. Ashley Manor is a wonderful school with exceptional children, dedicated staff and supportive families.
I look forward to building on the school’s many strengths and working alongside colleagues to provide the very best experience for every child.” Joining Sarah in the leadership team will be Ed Parkin, who has been appointed deputy head.
The appointment comes at a significant moment for both Ashley Manor and St Edward’s School, as the schools move towards a more closely aligned partnership under a shared strategic vision. Ashley Manor will retain its own identity, ethos and leadership, while benefiting from closer collaboration with St Edward’s as part of a joined-up educational journey for children from nine months through to A Level.
As part of this development, Anna Sandford-Squires will assume the role of principal, providing strategic leadership across both schools, whilst continuing as headteacher of St Edward’s. Anna Sandford-Squires said: “Sarah is a highly respected member of our community and has already made a significant contribution to the life of Ashley Manor.
She understands the school’s values, its strengths and its aspirations, and I am delighted that she will be leading the prep school into its next chapter.”
