Two films produced by students and recent graduates of the University of Gloucestershire’s Film and TV Production programme were celebrated at the prestigious Royal Television Society (RTS) West of England Awards 2026. The university’s talented individuals won awards across a variety of categories, showcasing the exceptional skills and creativity fostered at the institution.
The University of Gloucestershire was well-represented at the awards ceremony in Bristol, with 23 nominations spanning an impressive range of categories, including Comedy, Journalism, Drama, and Factual Short Form.
Current students Jack Fellows, Ben Cox, Connor Broadley, Markus Nilsson and Ethan Hughes were recognised in the Entertainment and Comedy Drama category for their film, “Of Chavs and Men.” Meanwhile, recent graduates Phoebe Brooks, Connor Cross, Lauren Howe, Spandan Pokhrel and Jemma McCoubrey won the nationally judged Journalism category for their work on “Clare’s Law.”
The university’s students and graduates also received prestigious Craft Awards, which celebrate exceptional promise and talent. Jack Fellows and Ethan Hughes were awarded for their outstanding Writing, Ben Cox for Producing “Of Chavs and Men,” and Jemma McCoubrey for Editing “Clare’s Law.” Additional Craft Awards were presented to Maya Barker for Camerawork, Nohlan Inseque for Production Design, and Jessica Aoife Ca for Hair and Makeup.
The Royal Television Society West of England Awards recognise and celebrate the exceptional talent and creativity within the region’s television and film industries. The University of Gloucestershire’s strong presence and success at this year’s ceremony is a testament to the quality of its Film and TV Production programme and the dedication of its students and alumni.
