The highly anticipated Starbucks coffee shop at the Kingsway development in Quedgeley has reached practical completion, paving the way for its opening to the public in the coming weeks.
The new 1,744 square foot drive-thru and coffee shop has been developed by Robert Hitchins Ltd in partnership with contractors EG Carter. It marks the final phase of the wider Kingsway commercial centre, which has seen the arrival of other major brands such as Asda, Lidl, Pure Gym, B&M, MKM, and Greene King.
Michael Plimmer, Senior Development Manager for Robert Hitchins Ltd, expressed his delight at the new Starbucks addition, saying, “It is great to see Starbucks join other big brands that Robert Hitchins has brought to Kingsway, providing excellent sustainable shopping and leisure facilities for local people and businesses in the area.”
The new Starbucks will be operated by The Magic Bean Company under a 20-year lease. Melissa Allen, Central Operations Manager at The Magic Bean Company, shared her excitement about the opening, stating, “We’re really pleased to be a part of this exciting redevelopment and to bring Starbucks to the busy area of Quedgeley. We’re looking forward to serving the community and creating careers for local people.”
The new Starbucks cafe is set to open its doors to customers on 13 March 2026. It will be located at the entrance to the Kingsway development on Naas Lane.
