Famelab’s Global Science Communication Contest Captivates UK Audiences

Cheltenham Hosts World’s Top Science Communicators at FameLab International Final 2025

Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, will take the spotlight on the global science communication stage as the FameLab International Final 2025 comes to the town on Tuesday, 25 November. Nine national champions from around the world will compete for the title of the World’s Best Science Communicator in a live-streamed event from CERN’s new Science Gateway.

The annual FameLab competition, now celebrating its 20th year, challenges early-career researchers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields to captivate audiences with engaging 3-minute talks. This year’s finalists hail from Australia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Poland, South Africa, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Each participant will present an innovative, thought-provoking talk on their area of expertise, using only their wits and a few props. Topics range from embryology and biomimicry to battery technology and neuroscience.

The live-streamed final, which starts at 7 pm GMT (8 pm CET), will be broadcast on the FameLab YouTube channel, allowing science enthusiasts around the world to tune in and discover the next generation of science communicators.
