New Non-Executive Directors Appointed to Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS Trust Board

Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS Trust has announced the appointment of two new non-executive directors, Debbie Forster MBE and Karen Clements, to its board. The trust says the new directors will bring unique skillsets that will benefit the organisation as it works to transform its services and improve the care provided to local communities.

Details

Debbie Forster MBE has a background in technology, skills, innovation and inclusion. She currently serves as a board member and chair of the Diversity Committee at the Institute of Coding, as well as a member of the UK Government’s Digital Skills Council. Forster has also held non-executive roles with the Lending Standards Board, Temenos, the British Council, and has been a member of the UK Government’s National Cyber Advisory Board and Digital Economy Forum.

Prior to her non-executive work, Forster was the Chief Executive of the Tech Talent Charter between 2017 and 2024. She has also spent five years as CEO of the technology education charity Apps for Good. In 2019, Forster was recognised as the Most Influential Woman in UK IT by Computer Weekly magazine and was awarded an MBE for services to digital technology.

Karen Clements joins the trust’s board with extensive senior leadership experience spanning over 35 years across the insurance, banking and commercial real estate sectors. She currently serves as a non-executive director with NHS Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board and has a strong track record in strategic business planning, identifying opportunities for improvement, and delivering organisational change.

Clements will bring her people-focused approach to her role as Chair of the Trust’s Great Place to Work Committee, drawing on her significant experience in improving employee engagement and securing the commitment of colleagues to drive positive change.
