The Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS Trust is gearing up to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week 2026 with the theme “#SkillsforLife”. The annual event, which runs from 6-12 February, aims to highlight how apprenticeships can help individuals of all ages and backgrounds develop the skills and knowledge needed for rewarding careers, while also allowing employers to build a talented, future-ready workforce.
Throughout the week, the Trust’s Apprenticeship and Widening Participation team will be raising awareness and celebrating the positive impact apprenticeships have within the organisation. They will be sharing information and highlighting the opportunities available for colleagues to upskill, progress their careers and gain recognised qualifications through the GHC Apprenticeship Programme.
In a special announcement, well-known TV presenter and GP, Dr Hilary Jones MBE, has recorded a short film to launch this year’s National Apprenticeship Week and wish all the finalists in the GHC Apprenticeship Awards the best of luck. The winners will be announced on the Trust’s Facebook and Twitter channels at 1pm on Friday, 10 February.
