Cheltenham Festivals Unveils Exciting 2026 Programme

The organisers of Cheltenham’s renowned cultural festivals have revealed details of their upcoming 2026 programme, promising a diverse range of events and activities for the local community.

Details

The Cheltenham Science Festival, which celebrates all things science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, will take place from 2-7 June 2026. The festival is inviting local organisations and individuals to submit proposals to run events as part of the programme.

Meanwhile, the Cheltenham Literature Festival, the world’s longest-running literature festival, will return from 10-19 October 2025. This year’s festival will feature a special focus on comics, with award-winning children’s illustrator Jamie Smart serving as the first ever Guest Curator for Comics. The festival will also offer over 100 free events and activities taking place in Montpellier Gardens and around Cheltenham town centre.

The Cheltenham Music Festival, held in July, will once again present a programme of classical music performances and behind-the-scenes insights for attendees.

Beyond the major festivals, Cheltenham Festivals’ year-round initiatives include the mentorship programme “Write Now”, which has been awarded a grant from the Amazon Literary Partnership to support underrepresented young voices.
