As the winter season approaches, residents of Cheltenham are stepping up to support those in need through a series of fundraising efforts and donation drives. Local law firm Willans LLP has organised several initiatives to collect essential items and raise funds for homelessness charities in the area.
Throughout the month of December, Willans LLP is hosting a “Winter Warmth” donation drive at their offices on Imperial Square. Members of the public are encouraged to drop off warm clothing, blankets, sleeping bags, and other winter essentials which will be distributed to local homeless shelters and support services.
In addition, the firm is running a festive fundraising campaign, with all proceeds going to Cheltenham-based homelessness charity Emmaus. Employees have organised a bake sale, a raffle with prize donations from local businesses, and a Christmas jumper day where staff members can make a small donation to wear their favourite seasonal attire.
“The winter months can be an especially difficult time for those experiencing homelessness,” explained Willans LLP partner Jane Wills. “We wanted to do our part to support the vital work of local organisations that provide shelter, food, and other essential aid to vulnerable members of our community.”
The “Winter Warmth” donation drive at Willans LLP will run from 1-20 December. Items can be dropped off at their offices on Imperial Square, Cheltenham, during normal business hours.
The festive fundraising campaign for Emmaus will take place throughout December, with the bake sale on 10 December and Christmas jumper day on 17 December. For more information or to make a donation, please visit the Willans LLP website at willans.co.uk.
