Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man in his 70s died after being punched in the face in Cheltenham. Gloucestershire Police released CCTV images after a serious assault on Wednesday night (April 8). Two boys were later arrested in Cheltenham on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. A 17-year-old was arrested last night (Thursday) and another, aged 16, was arrested in the early hours of this morning. Both have now been rearrested on suspicion of murder following the death of the victim in hospital where he had been in a critical condition until earlier today (Friday, April 10). At around 7.30pm on Wednesday, Gloucestershire Police were called to Honeybourne Way, near Waitrose. Two males were approached by the victim, a man in his 70s, where an exchange took place between them before one punched the victim in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. Emergency services attended and the victim was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. They are still appealing for further information and witnesses to what took place to come forward.
